SKR, NBR, HHT, NBW, IBS?
OK OK, IBS is still Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
But you get the point, right? All these initials are just different versions of the same thing, let’s be real.
Each wefting method is going to have the same elements; beads (with or without silicone), thread (nylon, cotton, polyblend, quilting thread?), a needle, loop tool, pliers, and extension hair in the form of some kind of weft.
Hand Tied, machine sewn, hybrid, flat weft, cozy weft, etc. Each brand will call their extensions something different. The weft usually gets its name by the way its made. When they take the raw bulk hair it will either be sewn together with a machine or hand tied. That’s all.
Now, add in the way stylists use those wefts. There’s so many! We aren’t reinventing the wheel here, each stylist has their own individual strengths so they will find a method that will suit those strengths.
When you’re looking for an extensionist, here’s a few questions to ask:
-What method would be best for my hair type?
-How long have you been preforming this method?
-What’s is the maintenance schedule?
-How will I know if my hair is getting damaged?
No matter the method you end up choosing, they shouldn’t hurt and they should look fabulous!
XO,
Ashlee
