Hair that Stands the Test of Time
As extension artists we’ve been using the same weft technology for decades! Very few things have changed since machine wefts were created; the density has changed, the chemical process has gotten a little less toxic or harsh to the donor hair, color technology has changed but most factories are still doing the same things to dye the donor hair, and the machine have been updated but essentially the wefts are the same. They defiantly have the thickest density, can be cut to fit the head shape, used to make your own clip in extensions, but they still have a bulky seam and itchy “mustache” (the fold over hair from the sewing machine).
In the early 2000’s hand tied wefts blew up the market and changed the hair game! They’re much thinner, can customize density to match our clients with only a few hairs (LIFE CHANGING), and for the first time we could order multiple colors for a single client without over purchasing hair. But these girls are delicate! the thread hold the hair together is known to break, still has the itchy mustache, and these wefts CANNOT be cut so you’re always strategically folding the wefts.
After years of working with different factories and the different variations of the machine and hand tied wefts entered a New Era of weft extensions! The seam is still slim like the hand tied, but it’s laminated so she won’t fall apart if you get a little rough with her. We can cut the wefts to fit the sections of your head without having folds or bulky edges. And NO MUSTACHE! No more itchy scalp because you have those little hairs poking you in the head after your gym sesh or after being in a top knot all night.
If you stylist isn’t using this New weft, they might just not know it exists yet. As a guest you might not now what type of weft or extension brand you’re wearing, and that’s totally fine! But it is ok to ask. Believe or not we like to show off the knowledge we’ve paid so many dollars and hours learning. If your stylist hasn’t heard about these new wefts, change their life and let’s introduce them! Let’s all be friends!
Its time for extension methods and tools for our ERA
XO,
Ashlee
